How Does Invisalign® Work?

With Invisalign® orthodontics, achieving your ideal smile is actually a lot easier than you might think. This orthodontic system consists of a series of clear plastic trays that are designed to guide your teeth naturally toward alignment. Your path to straight teeth begins when Dr. K takes an impression of your mouth. That clay impression is then sent to Invisalign® Labs, where they design a set of clear, plastic trays that are custom fit for your teeth. Each set of trays progressively moves the teeth into proper alignment. Patients are expected to wear the aligners for about 22 hours a day, removing them while cleaning the teeth and eating. When worn consistently, Invisalign® can help patients achieve their final look in less than one year. The aligners are replaced approximately every two weeks.
