Dr. Thomas Patrie was born and raised on Long Island. He fined tuned his hands at Oberlin Conservatory where he completed a bachelor of music in cello performance, followed by graduate music studies at Brandeis University and New England Conservatory. Dr. Patrie played the cello professionally in Boston for several years before transitioning to dentistry.
His music background allowed him to focus on the finer details while seeing the big picture. In 2005, after receiving his D.D.S from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in NY, Dr. Patrie gained advanced training for two years as a resident and then as chief resident at Stony Brook’s General Practice Residency focusing on comprehensive treatment planning, extensive implant prosthetics, and advanced endodontics.
He has worked for over ten years in private practice on Long Island. During this time he also served for 3 years as a part-time clinical assistant professor at Stony Brook’s School of Dental Medicine. As a faculty member at Stony Brook, he also provided dental care at the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton. He is currently a member of the Eastern Long Island Dental Implant Study Club and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Patrie is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), with a current certification in safe mercury amalgam removal technique (SMART.) He is dedicated to providing healthy, natural dentistry. He is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment while helping you attain a beautiful smile. In 2020 Dr.Patrie became a Naturopathic Medical Doctor, board certified in Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine.
He lives in Setauket. While not at work, he enjoys surfing, cello, banjo and spending time with his two sons.
