Children’s Dentistry

Positive hygiene habits are established at a young age, so it’s vital to let children know about the importance of dental health. Dr. K uses techniques that make going to the dentist fun for kids, rather than intimidating. He has also developed a “cavity free guarantee” program that encompasses everything, including nutritional counseling, fluoride vitamins and hygiene instructions, to help kids get on the right track.

General Dentistry Procedures

When it comes to caring for your teeth, it’s important to choose a dentist who is experienced in a variety of dental procedures. At e.s.i. Healthy Dentistry, Dr. Kilimitzoglou offers comprehensive dental care including cosmetic, restorative and general dentistry procedures. Whether you simply want to feel refreshed with a cleaning, or you require further attention, Dr. K can help you maintain your oral health. Here are a few of the procedures that we offer at e.s.i. Healthy Dentistry.

Being proactive about your health is important, but unfortunately some individuals only make a trip to the dentist when they experience pain or discomfort. Dr. Kilimitzoglou has created an inviting, professional practice so that patients feel comfortable going to the dentist on a regular basis. His examinations are thorough, allowing patients to maintain a healthy smile, and avoid later complications.

Care And Cleaning

Even individuals who are diligent about brushing and flossing still need routine dental care. Dr. Kilimitzoglou takes all aspects of oral health into account when caring for your teeth. In addition to helping you feel refreshed with cleanings, Dr. K provides other services such as oral cancer screenings, comprehensive assessments for oral abnormalities, fluoride treatments, anti-sensitivity therapies, oral hygiene instruction, nutritional counseling, and laser gum treatments.

CEREC® is an innovative technology that is used to create and place veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays in just one visit. This treatment option makes it easy to restore chipped, decayed or discolored teeth. Using computer technology, Dr. Kilimitzoglou can create tooth restorations in less than one hour.

Periodontal Care

The teeth are not the only important part of the mouth; your gums are essential to oral hygiene as well. Dr. K offers both surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatments aimed at preserving the health of the gums. Using a soft tissue laser, he is able to eliminate bacteria, foster regeneration of healthy tissue, and reshape the gums to suit cosmetic goals. Laser dentistry is the most advanced form of periodontal care and offers several benefits to patients including faster healing time, less invasive treatment, and reduced risk of infection.

Dental bonding is another option that patients have to treat decayed, chipped or cracked teeth. During this procedure Dr. Kilimitzoglou applies a plastic material to the tooth. This tooth-colored resin is then bonded to the tooth through the use of a special treatment light. Dental bonding can also provide a more attractive alternative to silver fillings.

Dental Bridges

Dr. Kilimitzoglou offers dental bridges to patients who have lost a tooth or several teeth. These bridges typically consist of a gold, metal or porcelain foundation and are bonded to the patient’s natural teeth to ensure strength. Affixed to dental crowns on both sides, a prosthetic tooth acts as a “bridge” over gaps in the teeth.

Dental Crowns

When teeth are badly damaged and a filling will not suffice, patients may need to have dental crowns placed. A crown can be thought of as a cap that covers the tooth, adding strength and preventing further decay. It also restores the shape of the tooth, providing an aesthetically-pleasing look. Crowns can typically be placed within two office visits.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is performed when a patient has a tooth that needs to be cared for, but not enough of the tooth is exposed. If Dr. Kilimitzoglou needs to add a crown or filling, for example, but there is insufficient exposed tooth structure, he removes some of the gum tissue to expose more of the tooth that is being treated. This procedure can also be performed for cosmetic reasons, if patients feel that their gums are overpowering. Using a soft tissue laser, Dr. K is able to provide precise treatment that minimizes patient discomfort.
